1967–68 Los Angeles Lakers season
The Lakers’ 20th NBA season and eighth in Los Angeles featured the debut of the franchise’s gold and purple uniforms. They began the year at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena and moved to The Forum in Inglewood on December 31, 1967, where they would play 31 seasons.
Coaching and leadership: Head coach was Butch Van Breda Kolff; general manager Fred Schaus; owner Jack Kent Cooke.
Season results: The Lakers finished 52–30, placing second in the Western Division. They won the division and advanced to the NBA Finals, where they lost to the Boston Celtics 4–2.
