1960 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship

The 1960 championship was the 74th edition of Ireland’s top hurling competition. It ran from 10 April to 4 September 1960 with 13 teams taking part. Waterford were the defending champions, but they were eliminated in the provincial championships.

Wexford won the title, their fourth, beating Tipperary 2-15 to 0-11 in the All-Ireland final. Wexford’s captain was Nick O’Donnell; Tipperary’s captain was Tony Wall.

Provincial champions: Munster – Tipperary; Leinster – Wexford. Ulster and Connacht did not have championships that year.

There were 13 matches played in total, with 88 goals and 199 points scored across the championship. The top scorer was Jimmy Doyle of Tipperary, with 5 goals and 18 points. Nick O’Donnell was named Player of the Year. An All-Star team was selected for the season.
