Kikkawa Historical Museum
Kikkawa Historical Museum (吉川史料館, Kikkawa Shiryōkan) is a private museum in Iwakuni, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. It preserves artefacts handed down by the Kikkawa clan, who were the lords of Iwakuni Domain. The museum sits between Kintai-kyō Bridge and Iwakuni Castle. It opened in November 1995 and is run by the Kikkawa Hōkōkai Society. The collection has about 7,000 items, including pieces from the Heian and Kamakura periods, a painting attributed to Sesshū, and one National Treasure. Four changing displays are shown each year. Other Kikkawa clan items can be seen at Iwakuni Chōkokan.
