Norwegian County Road 5627
County Road 5627 (Norwegian: Fylkesvei 5627) is a 48.6-kilometer (30.2-mile) road in Norway. It crosses the Aurlandsfjellet mountains from Aurlandsvangen to Lærdalsøyri. Much of the old route has been replaced by the Lærdal Tunnel, which is 24.51 kilometers long and is the world’s longest road tunnel. The barren mountain plateau offers views about 600 meters down to the Aurlandsfjord. The road is designated a National Tourist Route in Norway. Before 2020, it was called County Road 243, but after the county merger there were two roads with that number, so this one was renumbered to 5627.
