The Outsider is a 1917 American silent drama film directed by William C. Dowlan. It stars Emmy Wehlen, Herbert Heyes, and Florence Short, with a screenplay by Charles A. Taylor, based on the Louis Joseph Vance novel Nobody. The movie was produced by B. A. Rolfe for Metro Pictures and released on November 5, 1917. It runs six reels and is a silent film with English intertitles. Cinematography was by John M. Bauman. Prints survive in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and Cinemateket-Svenska Filminstitutet in Stockholm.
