1955–56 UCLA Bruins men's basketball team
The 1955–56 UCLA Bruins men’s basketball team represented the University of California, Los Angeles in the Pacific Coast Conference. Led by eighth-year head coach John Wooden, UCLA finished the regular season with a 22–6 record and went 16–0 in PCC play, earning the conference regular-season title. The Bruins played home games at Men’s Gym. In the NCAA tournament, UCLA lost to the San Francisco Dons in the regional semifinals, but then defeated the Seattle Chieftains in the regional consolation game, giving UCLA its first NCAA tournament win. The team was ranked No. 9 by the coaches and No. 8 in the AP poll.
