The 1926 Idaho Vandals football team represented the University of Idaho in the 1926 college football season. They played in the Pacific Coast Conference (PCC) and were led by first-year head coach Charles F. Erb. Home games were at MacLean Field in Moscow. The Vandals finished 3–4–1 overall and 1–4 in PCC games. In the Battle of the Palouse against Washington State, Idaho’s three-game winning streak in the series ended with a 6–0 homecoming loss in muddy conditions on November 6. Matty Mathews left Idaho in April for St. Louis, and Erb was hired as head coach in May. Erb, 23, was a former all-PCC quarterback at California under Hall of Fame coach Andy Smith and had previously coached at Nevada.
