The 1922 Stanford football team played in the Pacific Coast Conference. In his first year as head coach, Andrew Kerr led Stanford to a 4–5 record overall and 1–3 in the PCC, tying for fifth place. For the first time, all home games were played at Stanford Stadium, which had just been completed. With California Memorial Stadium under construction in Berkeley, Stanford hosted the Big Game for a second straight year at Stanford Stadium—the only time the rivalry game was held there in consecutive seasons.
