Giacomo Antonio Morigia
Giacomo Antonio Morigia, also known as Jacopo Antonio Moriggia, was an Italian Catholic archbishop and cardinal. He was born in Milan on February 23, 1633, and died in Pavia on October 8, 1708. He held several important roles: Bishop of San Miniato from 1681 to 1683, Metropolitan Archbishop of Florence from 1683 to 1699, Bishop of Pavia from 1701 to 1708, and Archpriest of the Liberian Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in 1699. He was made Cardinal Priest of Santa Cecilia in 1698, a position he held until his death. He was one of the cardinals created by Pope Innocent XII. Morigia came from the Milanese Morigia family, studied mathematics and architecture, and joined the church later in life. He also served as Superior of the Barnabites, a religious order dedicated to reform.
