James Bartholet
James Bartholet is an American actor and host who works on TV, radio, and the internet. He was born in Berkeley, California, and moved to Hollywood in the early 1980s. He has worked with directors like Blake Edwards and David Lynch and appeared in many films and TV shows from the 1980s and 1990s, including General Hospital, Beauty and the Beast, Night Court, Eve of Destruction, and The Last American Virgin. He starred in a pilot episode of The Boneheads for HBO.
Bartholet started on stage in Northern California and has earned acting nominations and awards for his work. He created L.A. Nitelife, a Los Angeles cable program, and hosted the L.A. Nitelife radio show, which aired on KIEV, then KLSX, and later KRLA. The City of Los Angeles recognized him with a proclamation for promoting nightlife and tourism in the area. He also hosted Tonite With James Bartholet on KSEX and has long been the host of Inside The Industry on latalkradio.com.
As a writer, he contributed to many publications and sites, including Bold magazine, LA2NITE, Hollywood.com, LA Reader, LA Weekly, GenuineNightlife.com, Excess magazine, Rock City News, Santa Clara Vision, and Entertainment Today. He has worked as an entertainment reporter and host for national TV programs and pay-per-view events. He performed on stage at the Comedy Store as part of the Hot Tamales Live troupe.
Bartholet hosts AVN Live and runs Galaxy Publicity and Management. He has served as an emcee or announcer at pageants for Hawaiian Tropics and Venus Swimwear and for the Hollywood Christmas Parade. He has also reached an international audience through acting in adult film features.
He won the 2011 AVN Award for Best Non-Sex Performance for Not Charlie's Angels XXX and earned XBIZ nominations in 2013, later winning an XBIZ Award in 2014 for Not the Wizard of Oz XXX.
