1824 United States presidential election in Massachusetts
During the 1824 United States presidential election in Massachusetts, held from October 26 to December 2, 1824, the state chose 15 electors for the Electoral College. John Quincy Adams, a Massachusetts native and a Democratic-Republican, won the state with about 72.97% of the popular vote (30,687 votes). An Unpledged slate received about 15.73% (6,616 votes). Adams received all 15 of Massachusetts's electoral votes. Voter turnout was 29.0%. Adams' running mate was John C. Calhoun. Nationally, four Democratic-Republican candidates competed, and Adams eventually became President, succeeding James Monroe.
