Édouard Nicolas Henri Charles Close (8 July 1929 – 2 March 2017) was a Belgian politician from Liège. He was a member of the socialist party. He served as interior minister of Belgium from 26 January 1973 to 23 April 1974 in the government of Prime Minister Edmond Leburton. He later was the mayor of Liège from 1976 to 1990, overseeing one of Belgium’s largest cities. He was born in Verviers and died in Liège at the age of 87.
