Zummar is a town and subdistrict in Nineveh Governorate, Iraq. It sits on the west bank of the Tigris River, about 60 km northwest of Mosul. The area has about 50,000 people, a mix of Arabs and Kurds, with many working in farming. Wheat is the main crop. Zummar also has two oil fields, Ain Zala and Batma, run by the North Oil Company.

In 2014, ISIS captured Zummar, but Kurdish forces recaptured it in October 2014. It stayed under Kurdish control until 2017, when Iraqi forces took it back during the Iraqi–Kurdish conflict. The Mosul Dam’s construction led to the town being relocated a bit to its current position. The subdistrict is known for both agriculture and oil.
