Zinc finger protein 613
Zinc finger protein 613 (ZNF613) is a human protein made by the ZNF613 gene on chromosome 19 at the 19q13.41 region. It belongs to the zinc finger family and acts as a DNA-binding transcription factor that works in the nucleus to regulate gene expression, using zinc ions to help bind DNA. The mouse version is its ortholog, located on chromosome 5. ZNF613 is expressed in many tissues and is active during development in areas such as parts of the brain, heart, gonads, and other tissues. In short, ZNF613 helps control which genes are turned on or off.
