Zhao Mingjian
Zhao Mingjian, born on 22 November 1987 in Dalian, China, is a former footballer who played mainly as a right-back or right midfielder. He started his professional career with Dalian Shide, breaking into the first team in 2005 and making his league debut on 22 May 2005 against Shanghai Shenhua. In his debut season he helped Dalian Shide win both the Chinese league title and the Chinese FA Cup. He became a regular player and scored his first league goal in 2008 against Changchun Yatai.
In 2013, Zhao moved to Shandong Luneng and was loaned to Changchun Yatai later that year, where he helped the team avoid relegation. He returned to Shandong Luneng and won the 2014 Chinese FA Cup with the club. In 2017 he joined Hebei China Fortune, then moved to his hometown club Dalian Yifang in 2019, before signing with Shanghai Shenhua in 2020. In 2022 he was loaned to Kunshan, where he played a key role as the team earned promotion. He later played for Shijiazhuang Gongfu, Foshan Nanshi, and Dalian Young Boy, before announcing his retirement on 31 December 2024.
Internationally, Zhao earned nine caps for China between 2016 and 2017, making his debut on 24 March 2016 in a 4–0 win over Maldives. Over his club career, he totaled 366 appearances and 14 goals.
