Yes TV Shows Channels
Yes TV Shows Channels is an Israeli group of channels owned by yes, Israel’s satellite TV provider. They show American, British and Israeli programs. As of 2016, the channels are four: yes Drama, yes Action, yes Comedy, and yes Oh. yes Drama and yes Action air new episodes on weeknights; yes Comedy airs new episodes on Fridays and Saturdays; yes Oh airs new episodes on weeknights. yes Real was canceled in 2012 and replaced with yes Oh, and yes Base was discontinued in 2015.
History in brief:
- The service began with Summer Nights (2003), then yesWeekend (2004) and yesREAL (2004) featuring reality shows.
- In 2006 yesSTARS launched to replace weekend programming with new shows on weeknights.
- In 2007 yesSTARS expanded to three channels (yes Stars 1, 2 and 3). In 2008 the branding changed again.
- On December 14, 2008, the network rebranded to five channels. In 2010 the names were simplified by dropping “stars.”
- The lineup evolved through 2011, with Yes Stars HD and related high‑definition options launching in 2008–2009, and later splits into yes Drama HD and yes Action HD.
- The Real channel was replaced by yes Oh in 2012; Yes Base was discontinued in 2015.
Viewing formats:
- Yes Stars HD offered 1080i50 widescreen for HD subscribers.
- For 4:3 TVs, you can choose widescreen display via the set‑top box, not affecting non‑HD broadcasts.
