Ghoshayatra Parva
Ghoshayatra Parva, meaning "Expedition to the cowherd assembly," is a part of the Mahabharata and contains 519 verses. The Kauravas travel to the forest of Dvaitavana to see the Pandavas’ cowherds, disguising the trip as cattle inspection to humiliate their cousins.
The journey goes astray when the Gandharvas seize the Kauravas. The Pandavas learn of the capture and come to their rescue. Duryodhana feels deeply shamed by the incident; he considers fasting to death but is persuaded not to, and he returns to Hastinapura to perform a sacrifice.
On the way back, the Gandharvas attack the Kaurava army and use magical illusions to scatter them. Arjuna and the Pandavas join the fight to save the captured Kauravas. Chitrasena, king of the Gandharvas, explains that he fought only lightly because he is a friend of Arjuna and wanted to capture Duryodhana alive. With Duryodhana freed, the Kuru army returns home to their kingdom.
