Young Savage Florida is a 1996 compilation CD featuring various Florida-connected artists. It covers styles like alternative rock, indie rock, garage rock, psychobilly, surf punk, and queercore. The project came from Baskervinyl Records with help from Aquatic Dogg Findings, Blue Heart Records, and Speed-O-Meter Records. Each artist holds two songs, arranged in the same order, with a few exceptions (The Vodkats, Galea Escargot billed as "Escargot," and John Stephan). The liner notes mix real and fake biographies for the bands. The songs often reflect Southern U.S. themes such as surfing, warm weather, highway travel, and early rock and roll. Standout moments include The Vodkats’ playful cover of Neil Sedaka’s "Stupid Cupid" in a medley with their own "Kill the Keg," and Loco Siempre’s track accusing Jerry Lee Lewis of killing Elvis Presley during a drunken rampage. Florida reporter Eydie Cubarrubia of The Bradenton Herald said the record likely contains some of the strongest material from bands she knew and shows the diversity of Florida’s music scene.
