Yelena Romanova (born Yelena Malikhina) was a Russian distance runner. She was born on 20 March 1963 in Voronezh, Soviet Union. She won Olympic gold in the women's 3000 metres at the 1992 Olympic Games. Later, she worked as an athletics coach in Volgograd and helped the Russian team. She died on 28 January 2007 in Volgograd, at age 43; the cause of death was not publicly known.
