Volakas is a region in Elis, West Greece. It used to be its own municipality, but since the 2011 reform it is part of the municipality of Pyrgos. The Volakas municipal unit covers about 70.8 square kilometers and has around 2,378 residents (2021). Its administrative center was Epitalio. The area lies on the Ionian Sea coast, southeast of Pyrgos and southwest of Olympia, with the Alfeios River forming its northern border. The landscape includes wooded hills in the northeast, while the coast is flat and used for farming. Greek National Road 9 and the Pyrgos–Kalamata railway run through Volakas. The small Epitalio airport (ICAO: LGEP) has suspended operations. Volakas is divided into several communities (villages).
