World at Your Feet
World at Your Feet is a song by the English rock band Embrace. It appears on the re-release of their fifth album, This New Day, in 2006. The song was England’s official World Cup song for the 2006 FIFA World Cup and was released on 5 June 2006.
Singer Danny McNamara said they didn’t apply to do the World Cup song—they were asked, and their manager suggested it. He spoke with his dad, who told him to go for it if he felt up to it.
The song was first played on BBC Radio 1 on 21 April by Chris Moyles. A BBC One reporter in a Bristol pub noted some listeners thought it was too slow, but Moyles defended it on air, saying it’s perfect.
As the follow-up to the hit “Nature’s Law,” “World at Your Feet” reached number three on the UK Singles Chart, making Embrace’s second top-three chart entry.
