Lawrence Webb is an academic administrator and former politician who lives in Falls Church, Virginia. He was born in Kenbridge, Virginia, and earned a BA in Mass Communications and a Graduate Certificate in Public Management from Shenandoah University, where he was the first African-American president of the Student Government Association.

Webb was the first openly gay African-American elected official in Virginia when he was elected to the Falls Church City Council in 2008. He ran for re-election in 2012 but did not win. In 2013 he was elected to the Falls Church City School Board, and in 2017 he was chosen by fellow board members to serve as chair; he was re-elected to the school board in 2017 and served a second year as chair.

He has worked in university admissions, including Shenandoah University and the University of Mary Washington, and is currently the Coordinator of Graduate Admissions at Bowie State University. He also worked in Shenandoah University's admissions and alumni affairs offices and has been involved with the James Farmer Scholars Program.

Webb was appointed by Governor Mark Warner to the School Board of the Department of Correctional Education in 2004, serving as chair from 2010 to 2012. Governor Terry McAuliffe appointed him in 2015 to the Virginia Advisory Committee on Juvenile Justice and Prevention. He has lived in Falls Church since 2004 and previously served on the city's Recreation & Parks Advisory Board. He lives with his partner, Clifton Taylor, and his candidacy was supported by the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund.
