Tarciane
Tarciane Karen dos Santos de Lima, born on 27 May 2003 in Belford Roxo, Brazil, is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a central defender for Lyon in France and the Brazil women’s national team. She began in Fluminense’s youth system in 2019, coming from a local project called Daminhas da Bola, and soon joined Fluminense’s first team.
In 2021 she moved to Corinthians, making her league debut on 22 August 2021 against Avaí and her first league goal on 28 May 2022 against Avaí. She renewed her contract with Corinthians in December 2022. In April 2024, Houston Dash signed her to a contract through 2026 with a mutual option for 2027, a transfer noted as the largest in Brazilian women’s football. On 2 February 2025, she joined Lyon on a four-year deal through 2029.
Internationally, Tarciane has represented Brazil at the under-17 and under-20 levels, making her U20 debut in 2022. She earned her senior Brazil debut on 7 October 2022 in a win over Norway and scored her first senior goal on 6 April 2024 against Canada. She was called up for the 2024 CONCACAF W Gold Cup and the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. She is part of Brazil’s squad for the 2025 Copa América Femenina.
