Canon, born Aaron Marcellis McCain on March 1, 1989, in Chicago and raised in Atlanta, is an American Christian rapper. He began rapping in high school after a serious car accident made him value life. He attended Bible College in Memphis, where he met Lecrae and Derek Minor, who mentored him and helped his career.

His first release was the 2009 mixtape The Great Investment. He gained attention from appearing on Lecrae’s Rehab: The Overdose and working with Derek Minor. In 2011 he signed with Reflection Music Group, releasing the EP Loose Canon in 2012 and the studio album Mad Haven in 2013. Loose Canon Vol. 2 hit 101 on the Billboard 200 in 2014.

In December 2014, he survived a serious fall down a ravine while trying to help after a car crash, suffering a broken jaw, a shattered ankle, and a concussion. He recovered and returned to music, releasing new singles and the third volume of Loose Canon in 2016.
