Terra de Areia is a municipality in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. As of 2020, about 11,315 people live there. The area is in the BRT time zone (UTC-3). Terra de Areia includes the Mata Paludosa Biological Reserve, a fully protected area of 113 hectares (280 acres) that was created in 1998. The reserve is a protected conservation unit within the municipality, which is located at roughly 29.58°S, 50.07°W.
