Willy Røgeberg
Willy Røgeberg (1 December 1905 – 15 December 1969) was a Norwegian rifle shooter who competed before and after World War II. He won two Olympic medals: one at the 1936 Berlin Olympics in the 50 m rifle, prone event, and a bronze medal at the 1948 London Olympics in the 300 m rifle, three positions.
He also won several medals at the ISSF World Shooting Championships, including events in Rome in 1935: 50 m rifle standing, 300 m rifle standing, and 50 m rifle kneeling.
After his 1936 Olympic success, he started his own guns and sporting equipment business in Oslo.
During the German occupation of Norway in World War II, he was arrested on weapons-related charges on 29 May 1942. He was held at Møllergata 19 from 29 May to 5 October 1942, and then at Grini concentration camp as prisoner no. 4776 from 5 October 1942 to 22 December 1943.
He died in Oslo in 1969 at age 64.
