William D. Coleman (scientist)
William D. Coleman (1950 – March 24, 2023) was a Canadian political scientist and professor at the University of Waterloo. He previously held the IGI Chair and was a University Distinguished Professor at McMaster University. He earned a BA from Carleton University and MA and PhD from the University of Chicago. His PhD thesis was "A structural approach to the study of political change with a case study of the movement towards independence in Quebec since 1949" (1979). Coleman died on March 24, 2023, in Hamilton, Ontario, at the age of 72.
