Weyprecht Glacier
Weyprecht Glacier (Norwegian: Weyprechtbreen) is a piedmont glacier on Jan Mayen island, in the Beerenberg area. It is the longest glacier there. The glacier covers about 8.9 square kilometers (3.4 square miles) and is about 6.8 kilometers long. Its end reaches the North Atlantic Ocean. The glacier is named after Karl Weyprecht, a 19th‑century Austro-Hungarian Arctic explorer. Coordinates: 71°06′52″N 8°11′13″W.
