Wendy Diamond
Wendy E. Diamond is an American philanthropist, entrepreneur, and TV personality. She runs LDP Ventures, an investment company focused on socially responsible projects, and she started the Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization. She also created Animal Fair Media, a pet-focused media platform.
Diamond was born in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and earned an associate degree from Pine Manor College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, in 1992.
In the 1990s, she self-published two cookbooks, A Musical Feast and An All-Star Feast, which together raised about $200,000 for homeless charities. The books featured recipes from famous musicians and athletes, with Nabisco helping cover production costs. The projects got attention in People magazine, and Diamond appeared on Oprah and Howard Stern to promote homelessness awareness. The All-Star Feast Cookbook included recipes from many athletes and helped raise funds for organizations such as the Special Olympics and the Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis.
A turning point came when Diamond met Marvin Girouard, the chairman of Pier 1 Imports, which helped her cookbooks reach stores.
She founded Animal Fair Media, Inc. after adopting her dog Lucky and cat Pasha. The company blends celebrity culture with animal rescue to promote pet adoption and welfare. Diamond also started Animal Fair Magazine, which features celebrities with their pets and gives tips on pet care. Through media appearances on Today, Good Morning America, CBS, Fox News, and more, she helped raise awareness for animal rescue and responsible pet parenting.
Diamond has appeared on TV shows such as Single in the City, Lucky Travels, and Relationship Rehab, and has contributed to major outlets including Today, Fox News, CNN, and The View. She has been involved in production work, including Lucky Diamond Productions, which developed the NBC pilot Mutt Makeover and the Fox special Paws for Style. One of her projects, In Search Of Puppy Love, premiered as a docucomedy and highlighted her Yappy Hour Rescue Tour, which raised more than $200,000 for animal rescue.
In 2010, Diamond joined the World Entrepreneurs Day Advisory Board as Chief Pet Officer and spoke at the UN kickoff. She then founded Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, held annually on November 19 since 2014. She and Lucky were grand marshals of the 2010 Krewe of Barkus Mardi Gras in New Orleans and helped unveil the Katrina Pet Memorial for animals affected by Hurricane Katrina. She spoke at the H+ Summit at Harvard and led the Yappy Hour Rescue Tour across 15 U.S. cities to raise funds for local rescues.
Lucky Diamond earned the Guinness World Record in 2011 for being the most photographed dog with celebrities. In 2012, Diamond’s dog Baby Hope Diamond was part of a charity wedding that set a Guinness World Record for the most expensive pet wedding, raising funds for the Humane Society of New York.
In 2019, Diamond received the Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Pioneer Award at the United Nations in recognition of her lifelong work supporting women in business and animal welfare.
