Sherrick McManis

Sherrick McManis is a former NFL cornerback and standout on special teams who played 11 seasons, mostly with the Chicago Bears. He was born in Peoria, Illinois, and starred at Richwoods High School, where he was a state champion long jumper. He played college football at Northwestern, earning first-team All-Big Ten honors as a senior in 2009.

The Houston Texans drafted McManis in 2010 (fifth round). In 2012, he was traded to the Bears, where he became a longtime special-teams captain. Highlights include a blocked punt that became a touchdown in 2012 and a Week 15 interception in 2020. He also started at nickel back later in his Bears career and appeared in playoff games. He dealt with injuries in 2012 and 2019 and was not re-signed after the 2020 season. His career stats include 154 tackles, 1.0 sack, 3 forced fumbles, 4 fumble recoveries, 8 pass breakups, and 3 interceptions.
