Warrington & District Football League
The Warrington & District Football League began in 1895 and was reformed in 1919, making it one of England’s oldest leagues. In 2013 it earned FA Charter Standard status. Affiliated to the Liverpool County Football Association, it provides football within about 15 miles of Warrington town centre, covering areas in Cheshire and Merseyside such as Warrington, St Helens, Runcorn, Widnes, Knowsley and Newton-le-Willows. The league has four divisions—the Premier Division and Divisions 1–3—with more than 40 teams competing each season. A notable success from the league is Warrington Town FC.
