1971 Montreal Expos season
The 1971 Montreal Expos season was the club’s third in the majors. They finished fifth in the National League East with a record of 71–90, 25.5 games behind the Pittsburgh Pirates. Home games were at Jarry Park in Montreal, and spring training was held in West Palm Beach, Florida at West Palm Beach Municipal Stadium, a site they shared with the Atlanta Braves for the third year. The team was owned by Charles Bronfman, with Jim Fanning as general manager and Gene Mauch as manager. Television coverage was on CBC Television (Don Drysdale, Dave Van Horne) and Télévision de Radio-Canada (Jean-Pierre Roy, Guy Ferron); radio coverage was on CFCF (English; Dave Van Horne, Russ Taylor) and CKLM (French; Jean-Paul Sarault, Jean-Pierre Roy).
