Wagheshwari Temple
Wagheshwari Temple is a well-known Hindu temple in Goregaon East, Mumbai, near Gokuldham Colony. It is dedicated to Wagheshwari Mata, a form of Goddess Bhagwati who is often seen as Parvati in her Durga form or Saraswati in her Vagdevi form. The temple’s entrance features large elephant sculptures. A important local tradition here is the sindoor ceremony, where married women apply red powder on each other’s foreheads as a symbol of marriage. The temple is located in the Mumbai Suburban district of Maharashtra, India.
