Wadhvana Wetland
Wadhwana Wetland is located in Dabhoi, Vadodara district, Gujarat, India. It formed in 1910 because of an irrigation dam. In 2021 it was declared a Ramsar site, highlighting its international importance as a wetland. The wetland serves as a wintering ground for migratory water birds along the Central Asian Flyway. Species seen there include endangered or near-threatened birds such as the Dalmatian pelican, Pallas's fish eagle, common pochard, ferruginous duck, and grey-headed fish eagle. The red-crested pochard, rare in western India, is also observed in winter. Coordinates: 22°10′19″N 73°29′10″E (about 22.172°N, 73.486°E).
