Wacław Wąsowicz
Wacław Wąsowicz (25 August 1891 – 6 October 1942) was a Polish painter and printmaker. He is associated with Fauvism and is known for his vibrant painting and printmaking work.
Education and career:
- He studied art with Wojciech Gerson (1909–1910).
- He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1911–1914) under Ignacy Pieńkowski.
- He also studied at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków in 1914 under Jacek Malczewski.
- His work included trompe-l'œil, printmaking, and watercolors. He painted on fabric and ceramic as well.
Personal life:
- He was married to Janina Raabe-Wąsowiczowa, a social worker and member of the Konrad Żegota Committee (Żegota).
Birth and death:
- Born in Warsaw, Poland, and died in Warsaw at the age of 51.
