Rotylenchus robustus
Rotylenchus robustus is a plant-parasitic nematode that infects lettuce. It is a small roundworm in the genus Rotylenchus, belonging to the family Hoplolaimidae, order Tylenchida, class Secernentea, phylum Nematoda, in the kingdom Animalia. The scientific name is Rotylenchus robustus (de Man, 1876).
This nematode has many historical synonyms, including Tylenchus robustus, Rotylenchus uniformis, Anguillulina robusta, Rotylenchus goodeyi, Rotylenchus fallorobustus, Rotylenchus uniformis, and others. It is sometimes called Thorne's lance nematode. As a plant pathogen, it can damage lettuce by feeding on its roots.
