History
The station signed on September 8, 1970 as WVSL-FM in Slidell. It has used several call signs over the years and changed its city of license to Kenner. The transmitter was damaged by Hurricane Katrina on August 29, 2005, and the station returned as a low-power WWL simulcast. In late 2005, it briefly became WTKL with a Kool 105.3 format before returning to the WWL simulcast and adopting the WWL-FM call letters.
