WFIZ, known on air as Z95-5, is a Top 40 radio station serving the Ithaca-C Cortland area in central New York. It broadcasts at 95.5 FM (with HD Radio) from Odessa and is owned by Cayuga Radio Group, part of Saga Communications. The station also runs HD2: Rewind 107.7 (classic hits) and HD3, which simulcasts WHCU. WFIZ started in 1968 as WFLR-FM on 95.9 in Dundee, originally a country station called Country 95.9. On September 15, 2008, it moved to 95.5 in Odessa to serve the Ithaca market and adopted the Z95-5 Top 40 format. Saga Communications completed its purchase in February 2014, and in August 2014 the studios moved to join Saga’s Ithaca facility. The station also uses a translator at 94.9 FM (W235BR) in Ithaca.
