CCDC80, or coiled-coil domain containing 80, is a human gene that encodes the CCDC80 protein. It is predicted to belong to the peroxiredoxin family, a group of antioxidant enzymes. The protein is also thought to interact with the extracellular matrix and may play a role in cell-substrate adhesion, based on its molecular features. In humans, CCDC80 is located on chromosome 3q13.2. The mouse version is found on chromosome 16. The gene is widely expressed in many tissues, with particularly high levels in the parietal pleura, tendons, smooth muscle, skin, gallbladder, bone marrow, and white adipose tissue. CCDC80 has several aliases, including DRO1, SSG1, URB, okuribin, and LINC01279.
