Vyacheslav Dmitriyevich Zudov (8 January 1942 – 12 June 2024) was a Soviet cosmonaut and pilot. He was born in Bor, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. Zudov was selected as a cosmonaut on 23 October 1965 and served in the Soviet Air Force, reaching the rank of Colonel. He flew as commander of Soyuz 23 from 14 to 16 October 1976 and spent a total of 2 days, 0 hours, and 6 minutes in space. He retired from spaceflight on 14 May 1987. He was married and had two children. Zudov died on 12 June 2024 at age 82 and was buried at the Federal Military Memorial Cemetery on 14 June 2024.
