Alpha Bravo Charlie
Alpha Bravo Charlie is a 1998 Pakistani action-thriller drama produced by ISPR and directed by Shoaib Mansoor. It’s a sequel to Sunehray Din and aired on PTV in May–July 1998, with 14 episodes of about 40 minutes each.
The story follows three friends fresh from the Pakistan Military Academy who become officers: Faraz (Alpha), Kashif (Bravo), and Gulsher (Charlie). They navigate army life, love, and danger. Faraz falls for Shahnaz, while Gulsher flirts with her and later marries her after proving he is decent. Kashif isn’t sure about staying in the army, but he stays involved.
As the friends take on tough assignments, Kashif serves in Siachen and comes up with a daring plan to survive. He endures frostbite and loses both arms and legs but survives. Gulsher goes to Bosnia and marries Shahnaz, and they have a son named Sher Jaan. In Bosnia, Gulsher is captured by Serbs and refuses to betray Muslims; he dies during his escape while Shahnaz mourns him back home.
Back in Pakistan, Shahnaz starts to cope as Faraz and Shahnaz grow closer. Kashif remains in service and is later promoted, while Faraz and Shahnaz run a hostel for special children. Faraz’s family encourages him to marry Shahnaz. In the final episode, Shahnaz reveals she would like to marry Kashif, but Kashif declines. A rumor spreads that Gulsher is alive, but in Bosnia he dies after escaping.
Twenty years later, Faraz is a Brigadier with his wife and two daughters, and Kashif is a Colonel with his wife and two children. Shahnaz travels to Bosnia in search of Gulsher but cannot find him. In 2021, Hadiqa Kiani revealed she was offered the female lead but declined.
