Dayton Wings (basketball team)

Dayton Wings were a professional basketball team from Dayton, Ohio. They played in the World Basketball League from 1991 to 1992 as an expansion team. They won the 1991 WBL championship by defeating Calgary. In 1992 they were leading the Southern Division when the league folded mid-season; the team dissolved on July 31, 1992. Home games were at the Ervin J. Nutter Center in Fairborn, Ohio (capacity 10,632). Team colors were blue and green. The Wings were owned by Milton Kantor. Head coaches were Pat Haley (1991) and Mike Sylvester (1992). They won the Division title in 1991.
