Vietnam: The Ten Thousand Day War

Vietnam: The Ten Thousand Day War is a 26-part Canadian television documentary about the Vietnam War. It was written by Peter Arnett and narrated by Richard Basehart. The series was produced in 1980 by Michael Maclear in Canada.

It aired on CBC in Canada from October 22, 1980 to August 1, 1982, on NBC in the United States, and on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom. The pilot runs 52 minutes and the regular episodes are 26 minutes each.

During production, Maclear visited Vietnam and was granted access to film material, becoming the first Western journalist allowed to film there since the war ended. For American syndication, the series was edited into 13 hour-long episodes.
