Round the Bend (album)
Round the Bend is a jazz studio album by American saxophonist Rob Brown. It was recorded on May 30, 2001, at Seltzer Sound in New York City and released in 2002 by the French label Bleu Regard. The album features a trio with William Parker on bass and Warren Smith on drums, and runs 64 minutes and 33 seconds. Producers were Michel Dorbon and Rob Brown. In Brown's discography, Round the Bend follows Jumping Off the Page (2000) and precedes Likewise (2003). Critics praised the music for its flexible rhythm and purposeful improvisation: AllMusic noted Brown's blend of soulful, lyrical lines with rapid, conversational passages, while All About Jazz highlighted the strong interplay between Parker and Brown and described the music as free playing with direction and structure.
