Victor Arnold “Vic” Bateman (4 August 1904 – 29 April 1972) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Sturt in the SANFL. Born in Parkside, South Australia, he played as a centre and appeared in 86 games for Sturt from 1928 to 1933, scoring 16 goals. He captained Sturt from 1930 to 1934 and led the team to the premiership in 1932. Bateman won Sturt’s Best and Fairest award in 1929 and 1930. He also played two games for South Australia. His original team was Unley Methodist. He was 181 cm tall and weighed 82 kg. Bateman died in Adelaide in 1972 at the age of 67.
