Van Schaick
Van Schaick (also Schaick) is a Dutch surname that comes from a place name. It is mostly found in the United States. Most people with the name are descendants of Goosen Gerritse van Schaick (1633–1676), who was born in Westbroek, Netherlands, and became a brewer in Beverwijck (Albany), New York. He bought the island that would later be known as Van Schaick Island.
