UN Security Council Resolution 1328 was adopted unanimously on 27 November 2000. After considering a report from the Secretary-General Kofi Annan about the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) and reaffirming Resolution 1308 (2000), the Council extended UNDOF’s mandate for six months, to 31 May 2001. The resolution called on the parties to implement Resolution 338 (1973) and requested the Secretary-General to report again at the end of the period.

In his report on UNDOF, the Secretary-General said the situation between Israel and Syria had remained calm with no serious incidents, but the broader Middle East remained dangerous until a comprehensive settlement is reached. There were restrictions on UNDOF movement, and both Israel and Syria denied the Force access to some positions.
