USS Susanne (SP-832)

USS Susanne (SP-832) was a private motorboat built by the Matthews Boat Company in Port Clinton, Ohio. In 1917, as the United States prepared to enter World War I, the Navy inspected Susanne for possible military service and assigned her the registry number SP-832. The Navy did not purchase or commission her, and she remained a civilian vessel. Susanne was about 60 feet long and was listed as a proposed patrol vessel. She should not be confused with two other Matthews-built patrol boats that did enter Navy service during World War I: USS Susanne (SP-411) and Suzanne (SP-510).
