USCS Baton Rouge, later USC&GS Baton Rouge, was a stern-wheel steam-powered survey ship named after Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Built by S. D. Bardmore in Louisville, Kentucky, it was completed and commissioned in 1875. The ship was 95 feet long, 20 feet wide, with a 4-foot draft, and it used a steam engine to drive a stern wheel. It served with the U.S. Coast Survey from 1875 to 1878, and after 1878, with the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey from 1878 to 1880. The Baton Rouge sank in the Mississippi River on December 26, 1880, and was reportedly raised and sold in 1881.
