Omar D. Crothers (died August 3, 1946) was an American lawyer and Democratic politician from Cecil County, Maryland. He served in the Maryland Senate representing Cecil County from 1910 to 1914 and again from 1918 to 1922. Born to Alpheus R. Crothers, he was raised by his uncles after his father died in 1902; one of his uncles was Austin L. Crothers, who would later serve as Maryland’s governor. He attended West Nottingham Academy and Delaware College (now the University of Delaware) before being admitted to the bar in 1901. Crothers worked as a lawyer and served fourteen years on Maryland’s State Accidents Commission and on the State Roads Commission. He married Reba Miller of Elkton, and they had two sons: Omar D. Crothers Jr. and Austin L. Crothers. In 1911 he bought a home on East Main Street in Elkton. He died of a heart attack at his Elkton law office on August 3, 1946, at age 66, and was buried at West Nottingham Cemetery in Colora, Maryland.
